Moving estimates by video walkthrough

The old ways of quoting a move are a phone call where you try to remember everything you own, or a stranger walking through your house on a weekday afternoon. We use something better.

How it works

Trinity uses LiveSwitch, an AI-powered video tool, to see your home before we quote your move.

First, we text you a link. There's no app to download. It opens in your phone's browser.

Then you choose how to do the walkthrough. You can join a live video call and walk through the house with one of us, who'll ask questions as you go. Or, if your schedule is tight, you can record the walkthrough yourself whenever it's convenient and send it in.

Either way, the video is saved on our side. The tool builds an inventory list of what you showed us, we go through it and check the access, and we send you a written summary of what we discussed along with your estimate. If the summary missed something, tell us and we'll fix it. Most estimates go out the same day.

Why it gives you a better quote

An estimate is only as good as the information behind it. When a quote comes from a phone description, things get missed. People forget the garage. They forget the patio set, the shed, and the closet under the stairs. They say three bedrooms, and the mover pictures a different three bedrooms.

Those gaps are where move-day surprises come from: a truck that's too small, a crew that's too light, or a bill that doesn't match the quote.

Video closes most of those gaps. We see the actual furniture, the actual stairs, and the actual distance from your door to where a truck can park. We can plan the crew and equipment around what's really there. No estimate can promise nothing will change, but one built from a clear look at your home starts from a much better place than one built from memory.

Why it's easier on you

You don't have to take time off work to meet an estimator. You don't have to tidy up for a visitor. If you're moving to New Braunfels from somewhere else, or moving a parent from out of town, nobody has to travel just to get a number.

It's also useful after hours. If the only quiet time you have is nine at night once the kids are down, record the walkthrough then and we'll review it when we're back in.

Kevin Joshua, Trinity's owner, was featured in LiveSwitch's moving-industry case study. His take on it is simple: customers love the convenience. As he puts it, it also keeps our trucks off the road for estimates, which is better for your schedule and for the diesel bill.

How to get the most out of your walkthrough

Go room by room, and go slowly. Pan across each room so we can see all the furniture, then open the closets. Don't skip the garage, the attic, the shed, the patio, or a storage unit if you have one. That's where forgotten items live.

Point out anything heavy, fragile, or awkward and tell us about it as you film: a piano, a safe, a marble table, an antique hutch, a treadmill. Mention what's not coming, too, so we don't count it.

Then show us the way out. Stairs, tight turns, elevators, the front walk, and where a truck could park all affect how long a move takes. If you know the new place, tell us the same things about it.

Turn on the lights, hold the phone sideways if you can, and talk as you go. It doesn't need to be polished. It just needs to show us what's there.

What happens next

Once we've reviewed your video, we'll email and text your estimate, usually the same day, with a written summary of the walkthrough. Local moves are hourly from $235, labor-only is hourly, packing is hourly, and out-of-town moves are a flat rate. The rates are all on our pricing page.

If you have questions, call us and we'll walk through it together. If something changes before move day, such as a new couch or a storage unit you decided to clear out, tell us and we'll update the estimate so it still matches reality.

Prefer to just talk it through? That works too. Call (830) 837-4628 and we'll start there.

FAQ

Do I need to download an app for the video estimate?

No. We text you a LiveSwitch link that opens in your phone's browser. There's no app to install.

Does the walkthrough have to be a live call?

No. You can join a live video call with us, or record the walkthrough on your own time and send it in. Either way, we review the video and prepare your estimate from it.

Is a video estimate a guaranteed price?

It's an estimate based on what we can see, which makes it far more reliable than a phone guess. You'll get a written summary of the walkthrough with your estimate, so we're working from the same list. If your inventory changes, let us know and we'll update it.

The three questions we ask on every move

Safe

Your belongings, your home, and our crew all finish the day in one piece. Furniture is padded and wrapped before it moves, and nobody rushes a heavy piece down a staircase.

Efficient

Everything is worked out before we arrive, so when the truck pulls up we can just get to work. Moving day shouldn't be the day the planning happens.

Courteous

Our crew puts themselves in your shoes. Polite, in uniform, and thinking ahead for you on one of the more stressful days of your life.
